
Illinois Law Enforcement Education FoundationMission: To provide education and training for law enforcement
personnel; research of issues of importance to both law enforcement and the
community; and to educate and inform the public about law enforcement issues and
the impact of those issues on the public.
History: LEEF was founded by working law enforcement officers to fill
gaps in training, research and community information not being met by law
enforcement agencies due to the lack of fo financial and human resources. Its Board of Directors is comprised of members of both
law enforcement and the business community. Funding: LEEF is funded by donations from the general public and
grants. Funding received is used to
provide low-cost or no cost training to police officers throughout the state,
create public service announcements and further community and law enforcement
partnerships.
