Illinois State Lodge Per Capita for 2009
The 24th Biennial Illinois State Lodge Conference delegates approved a new per capita rate for 2009. Per capita for 2009 will be $19.50 for the full year and $9.75 for half year. 2009 per capita is due on Nov. 1, 2008. Per capita packets should be mailed by the first week in September.

Retirees Healthcare Update
New Annual Electronic Filing Requirement for Small Tax-Exempt Organizations Beginning in 2008, small tax-exempt organizations (one example is FOP local lodges who raise less than $25,000 per year) that previously were not required to filed federal tax returns may be require to file an annual electronic notice, Form 990-N, Electronic Notice (e-postcard) for Tax-Exempt Organizations not Required To File Form 990 or 990-EZ. This filing requirement applies to tax periods beginning after Dec. 31, 2006. Organizations that do not file the notice will lose their tax-exempt status.
